The Annual Toys 4 Teens campaign gets underway Thursday morning with a big launch party at the Delta Bow Valley Hotel downtown.
The drive collects gifts for underprivileged kids aged 10 to 17 who are often forgotten over the holidays in favour of younger children.
Morning Show Host Eric Francis says the Salvation Army is in desperate need, adding teens are not that hard to buy for.
“Gift cards, gift cards, gift cards,” he said. “I mean, it’s like adults love cash, teens love gift cards because they are very particular in what they want.”
Among the special guests participating in the launch of Toys 4 Teens, is Mayor Naheed Nenshi and Santa Claus.
Unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at London Drugs locations in the city as well as Dolphin Dry Cleaners, Nu Way Floor Fashions, and the South Street Burger Company.
