The South St. Burger Co. team had a blast grilling up burgers for at the SteamWhistle Brewery in Toronto last weeked! Beautiful weather led to a fantastic turnout of hungry diners! Thanks to our good friends at the SteamWhistle Brewery for inviting us down to share in the Doors Open event with them.

So maybe we’re a little late to the party, but May is National Hamburger Month, founded and celebrated by none other than our neighbors to the south, the Hamburger capital of the world, the U.S.A.

South St. Burger Co. and its sister company New York Fries will both be on hand, along with other restaurants, to help cater an amazing event for a very worthy cause. Imagine a Cure for Leukemia is now in it’s 5th year of fundraising. It’s mission is to support leading edge Leukemia research and give hope and strength to people battling this disease.  With over 70,000 Canadians suffering with a blood cancer, and a likely 15,000 yet to be diagnosed this year, Leukemia is a very real and scary disease that many children and adults alike are fighting.  To date, the Imagine a Cure for Leukemia event has raised over $400,000 in just four years, and has contributed to many important research projects that are already benefiting Leukemia patients.
